Jess’ Class Week 9 Term 2

We’ve continued with our focus on cities this week and started on the building of our very own model city. There was no containing the creativity once the children started and I suspect our model city may take over the whole classroom by the end of the term!

In our study of “Myself and Others” we focussed on personal space this week, with Susan delivering a lesson on the differing size of a person’s personal space bubble depending on context. The children responded very well to this lesson, demonstrating a good understanding of how our personal bubble can be bigger or smaller depending on where we are, and who we are with.

We are trying very hard to complete our class book “James and the Giant Peach” by the end of term, so that those children who have theatre tickets have a full concept of the story. It’s been really great to see the improvements in the children’s ability to listen to a story read aloud without pictures.

There is quite a bit of sickness going around the class and it seems to be knocking children about quite a bit. If your child is sick, please keep them at home, so that the germs aren’t shared.

Lucky last week coming up…

Jess 🙂
