Jess’ class Week 6 Term 3

Hello everyone,

We started our week with an informative lesson from Ziggy, Ash’s Dad, who came to teach the group about bones; how they can break and also how they heal. The children were full of questions and enjoyed the experience of snapping twigs (ouch) then using plasticine to demonstrate the bone healing process.

We’ve also begun to look at narratives this week, diving into story mountains as a way to examine a plot line. We deconstructed the picture book “Rose Meets Mr Wintergarden” exploring the beginning, rising action, climax, resolution and, of course, the ending. We also explored the 5 w’s (when, what, where, who and why… and how…) whilst reading “Belinda” by Pamela Allen. We’ll continue exploring narratives over the next few weeks.

Fun with subtractions and number lines in maths and a gorgeous afternoon with Amelia’s class using 3D objects to mould little gnomes out of clay.

Art week was a huge success, and Wear it Purple day suitably celebratory!
