Jess’ class Term 3 Week 3
Hello everyone,
It’s been a very fun week. Walking to the Mushroom Forest (Kelly’s Flat) on Tuesday was a highlight as everyone was busting with enthusiasm. With the beautiful weather and all-round sense of good fun, it made for an excellent adventure. There was some cross-country action moving across the golf course and then lots of shoes discarded around the creek as the children floated leaf boats and skimmed rocks. Thank you to Isura and Jane for joining us.
We also had some fun painting a spring-themed canvas for Lane Cove Council. It’s going to be taken away and turned into bunting as part of a community project to be hung up in the plaza.
But the most fun of all (at least for me) was probably on Thursday afternoon when we decided the best way to teach science was through drama! The children had a ball recreating themselves as vital organs, red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets then running around the basketball court to gather oxygen and deliver it to the right place in a timely manner. We even made a skin barrier by linking hands and the children played platelets rushing to the area to create a scab when it broke apart. Not sure if the science would hold up to university standards, but I think the main concepts will definitely be remembered!
Happy weekend.
