For the Whole School: Term 3 Week 10
Last Week of Term
Spring is (mostly) in the air and it has been a pretty relaxed week at school. Jump Rope for Heart thank you gifts have arrived for the fundraisers, and families have collected the art works bought in the silent auction at the social last Friday. Some art to enjoy for the holidays and a wonderful amount of money raised for children in Nepal. Friday was a day for trips to the shops to buy lunches and sitting cosily watching movies chosen by each group. A lovely way to end the term.
We have had some fantastic help in the school library this week, with around 50 new books now out on shelves for borrowing and new labels and tidying done. Thank you so much to the library helpers! Some more donated books have been given out to families to enjoy over the break. Please remember to return them so that others can enjoy them too next term!
A new piano teacher has been found to replace Emily for after school lessons. Parents of students who were learning with Emily on Wednesdays, please respond to Wendy’s email about alternative times on Tuesday afternoon between 4 and 6pm.
The plans for the replacement of our front fence are progressing and you might have seen the DA notice on the fence now. Sadly, it looks as if we will lose the gum tree near the driveway gates. It is already damaging the fence and all our advice is saying it will need to go. Unfortunately, it was just planted in the wrong place. It will be replaced with advanced native trees as soon as possible.
Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to the school this term, from doing washing or putting out bins each week, taking plastic for recycling or turning up on Maintenance Day and working on the playground or the staff room or the library. Thank you to you all!
Hope to see many of you at the Currambena family camping adventure over the last weekend of the holidays. Thank you again to Farzad for organising this.
Very best wishes to everyone for a safe, happy and relaxing holiday… and special best wishes to Faith for her wedding, strategically planned for during the break!
See you next term!
With love from Olivia and Wendy
