Faith’s Class: Term 3 Week 1

Hi families,

It was a short but sweet week! Unfortunately, I missed the first day of Term 3, but the Chatterboxes had a blast with Sean (one of our fantastic casual teachers).

The Chatterboxes slipped straight back into the swing of things, with lots to look forward to this term. Sport is choice-based this term, with everyone across the school selecting two activities they would like to participate in. These include pickleball, basketball and cricket, to name a
few. Everyone has signed up for their choices and is excited to play alongside friends and peers from other classes.

We also introduced our integrated topic for the term ‘Currents of Care’, which focuses on community and place. Throughout the term, we will be exploring different places, what “place” means to different people, and how communities help shape it. We will also be looking at sustainability and how it helps us care for the places that are important to us. As part of this topic, our English focus will be on informative texts and persuasive writing.

In Maths, we have begun exploring mass. This is a very hands-on topic, and the class enjoyed comparing different objects around the classroom and working out which ones were the heaviest.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sending out the mid-year student records. These will be followed by our parent-teacher meetings, so please keep an eye on your emails for more information.
