Amelia’s group Week 6 Term 2

Hi everyone,

This week we focused in on friendships as there has been a few social conflicts or changes in the group dynamic over the last week. We spoke about what friendship actually is – that it can sometimes mean having arguments or disagreements but treating each other with respect and trust even when we disagree. We made ‘friendship soup’ by combining the key ingredients that are integral in friendship. Some of these included trust, honesty, silliness, kindness, just a pinch of arguments, and love. I have hung up all of the ingredients we combined to make our friendship soup, so please come in and take a look!

In our ‘Space Explorer’s lesson this week, we looked at night and day. I demonstrated using a lamp and globe how the sun and the rotation of the earth work together to create night and day. Some of these children made connections between places their own families live like Iran or Brazil, and when they are cast in the Earth’s shadow and experiencing a different time of day to here in Australia.
