Amelia’s Group Term 3 Week 3

Hi everyone,

Thank you to everyone who came to our philosophy evening on Wednesday. It was a lovely night and we are hoping to do these more often in the future, so please make sure to join us for the next one!

Unfortunately, I went home sick on Tuesday, but Jess, Archana, Faith and two of our parent volunteers took the children to the infamous Mushroom Forest. It is a lovely place for the children to visit, to put their feet in the freezing water and explore some of the natural flora.

Carolina was absolutely amazing on Wednesday and worked with each class to cook two Spanish soups, which were also served at the philosophy evening. The children always love cooking experiences, and Carolina masterfully combines them with Spanish learning.

On Thursday, we learnt about our Zones of Personal Space. We discussed our differing levels of comfort when it comes to physical boundaries, and where the people in our lives sit in our zones. It was an important discussion to consider that our physical boundaries may differ from a close friend or family member of ours, and how to kindly communicate when we need space or need more physical affection like when we feel sad. Asking for space doesn’t mean we are being unkind or that it means forever!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
