Amelia’s group News Week 4 Term 3
Hello all,
It has been a very busy week with a definite highlight being our trip to the secret garden with Jess’ class. Despite a gray and dreary day, we were very lucky that the rain held off, giving the children a chance to run around, climb trees, and play with their friends.
This week we have continued our work in PDHPE, this time with a focus on respectful and active listening. We discussed how it feels when people listen to us with our ears, eyes and heart, and how we can do this. We role-played speaking to someone when they have their back-turned, their eyes looking around the room instead of us at us, being interrupted while we are sharing, and someone looking and listening but not asking questions or being engaged. We learnt that all of these things can mean someone is not listening with their heart as well, and having someone’s full interest and attention can make us feel supported, comfortable, safe, and connected to one another.
Have a lovely weekend!
