Amelia’s class Term 4 Week 1

Hi everyone,

Welcome back for Term 4! I hope you all had a beautiful break and got out of Sydney for a little while.

The children were eager and excited to be back at school from day one and readapted to the routine in no time. This week we started looking closer at our class play, with a storyline fleshed out and the children’s characters chosen. They all created a costume design and labelled a diagram to help them get started on sewing and making next week in their craft session. There are some very creative ideas, so it will be interesting to see Crafty help bring them to life!

In our PIP session this week not only did our elders get stuck into their fourth and final PIP of the year, but those children that have worked with Jess learning about the Ocean have also begun a GIP (Group Interest Project)! Jess started this idea of creating a GIP last year and found it was very successful and helpful for the children before their transition into creating PIPs individually the following year. They will be learning about Australian birds and creating the project together by choosing what information they will include.

Just a reminder, we will have our first swimming lesson next Tuesday afternoon, so make sure your child comes with sunscreen and swimmers on, a hat and water bottle in their bag, a towel, and easy comfortable shoes and clothes to slip on for the journey back to school.
