Amelia and Faith’s Class: Term 1 Week 7

Happy end of Week 7 everyone!

This week has been filled with Truffula Trees and Bar-ba-loots as the Cheepy Birds read ‘The Lorax’ by Dr. Suess as part of their ‘What Matters?’ topic. They have spent the week starting to create a giant diorama as a class of the world of the Lorax, they made their own Truffula Trees and have started adding extra little details (which will remain a surprise for now!).

Our Juniors have been continuing their exploration of Oceans with Joanna’s class, this week looking at the powerful octopus. Our Elders were giving their PIP’s their last polish this week, making sure our ideas were clear, our punctuation was correct and, of course, we had an eye-catching design on each slide.

In craft they have started creating a group project for the ‘What Matters?’ festival and this will be developed over multiple weeks. Can’t wait to see what they create!

As you all know Amelia will be away next week, but don’t worry she will be back Monday of Week 9. I (Faith) am the lucky teacher looking after the Cheepy Birds while Amelia is away. I am really excited to spend my whole week in the classroom.

Next week is going to be a big one, on Tuesday we will be going on a whole school excursion to Art Express, Wednesday is Summerhill Day and then Friday is Sock Day!
