Aussie Kids… Week 9 Term 2

Dear Parents,

I had a fantastic time at Laura at the Dance Festival in the weekend. It was an  extraordinary experience. I have already inflicted my 350 photos on a number of people so watch out. We will talk more about the whole experience when Wendy and the rest of the children come back on Friday.

Thank you to the parents who came with us to the Zoo yesterday, it was a great day though as usual not long enough. Thank you to Jagger and his Dad who invited us to their house yesterday to see Jagger on the drums. It was so much fun.

Tomorrow we want to attempt to get to Berry Island so if you can drive us please sign up on the door. It does rely on the weather though. Boots and raincoats may be needed even if it isn’t raining when we leave!!

This week we are continuing our aboriginal theme and we have collected everything we can find in our environment and drawn what we want to make and this afternoon we will be making toys from natural resources.

We are working on the letter ‘O’ and continuing to investigate numbers from 11 to 20 with the younger group. We have been experimenting with fractions. I have been doing some one on one reading and assessing new reading levels which is always fun and exciting for me and the children.

There has been a change in our craft timetable and how we are using our Fridays and we will explain more when we have sorted all the logistics.

Take care
