Hello Everyone
Thanks for the amazing transformation of the school on Maintenance Day! Even the computer desk in the photocopier room has had a spruce up!! It is wonderful to have such energetic and caring parents and such a beautiful, cared for school.
This week we welcome Elsbeth and her family to preschool. We have been painting with water colours and using candles to create resist drawings. We have also made banana pikelets. There has been lots of sandpit play, outdoor play with the tyres and playing with cars and trucks.
We have also been talking about what we can all can do when our mums or dads drop us off at preschool. Chris, Julianna and I had a discussion with a group of children yesterday and the children came up with the following ideas – talk to your mum or dad before they leave, give them a kiss and a hug, tell them you’ll miss them and you’ll see them later, then go and hug a teacher, make something or play.
An investigation into diggers and big machines has started so if you have any pictures or information about diggers, bull dozers and other such equipment please bring it in. Thanks!
Yesterday Luuk and Willem, our Dutch students started a weekly sports session with preschool. Luuk and Willem are here for 6 months so they will be doing lots of sports and games with us each Tuesday morning.
This morning we are joining Fran’s class to make some agreements about the shared use of the outside environment. It will be interesting to see what the children come up with. Steve, the grandfather of Luke, from Olivia’s class, and Julia, from Fran and Jo’s class, has donated his boat to the school so we will decide where to put it as well. Thanks to Steve for this and also to David, Josh H’s dad for volunteering to do the necessary repairs. It’s going to be so much fun to play in. I wonder what play it will inspire?
The Conflict Resolution Revival Course is happening this weekend providing there are enough people. Please tell Chris, Fran or Wendy if you would like to do the course today!
It’s Information Morning today so there will be visitors at the school. Rowena (from CASP) is coming to work in preschool for four hours while I go to Information Morning and do some administration work.
Thanks for all the paper cutting everyone and also doing our washing. Thanks for the big teddy bear, Lillie. Thanks for the A4 paper Kasia, Julie and Peter.
Love from
Sue, Chris and Gabriela.
