Hello Everyone
Welcome to all our new children and families that have joined us since the last newsletter.
We have had a busy first week, meeting all the new children, taking their photos, making and writing in journals, writing each child’s autobiography and exploring the new environment. We have also started making agreements on how to treat the chickens.
We have visited the library a couple of times and some children may have borrowed books. The system at Currambena is children can borrow books and when they have finished reading them they need to return them to the white box in the library upstairs. Thanks to all the parents who have tidied, cleaned and shelved books in the library.
The preschool hours are 9.00 am to 2.30 pm. We use the time before 9.00 am and after 2.30 pm to set up the room, to plan and program, to write in journals and to prepare for the following day. We really appreciate families sticking to these times. If you arrive before 9.00 am you will need to stay with your child until preschool starts at 9.00 am. Please pick your child up promptly at 2.30 pm and let us know if there’s a delay. Thank you!
The canteen is not up and running yet. It needs parent volunteers to cook the food and run it. If you have time to contribute on a Monday morning, write your name on the note on the notice board. You can use this time as your maintenance hours.
There is a whole school Information Meeting on Thursday 19th February at 7.00 pm. It will last until about 8.30 pm. New parents please bring a photo of yourselves as preschoolers and last year’s parents please bring a photo of yourselves as you are now.
There is a Welcome Breakfast Social on Friday 27th February from 7.30 am – 9.30 am. All are welcome.
Thank you to everyone for doing washing, cutting easel paper and other maintenance jobs in preschool.
