Hi Everyone, welcome to a new year at Currambena!
I’d like to start by welcoming all the children in my class (all the oldies; the newies from Fran’s and Ygraine and Lulu) and their families. If you have any questions, concerns or just feel like a chat please come and talk to me. The best times to do this is before school (8.30-9.30) or after 3pm. Otherwise we can organise another time to meet for a chat.
Just a few things to tell you to start with, but please make sure you read the newsletter each week as this is where you will find information about maintenance jobs, upcoming events and changes in the classroom, as well as all the things we are doing in our class. This week, we will be spending time getting to know each other and the routine etc.
We have so many things on offer this year…We have sport on Monday afternoons (swimming and bush walking this term), music with our Music teacher Tony on Tuesday, Italian on Wednesday, Lane Cove Library (every second Wednesday) and craft with Chris on Thursdays. Please come in and look at our timetable so that you can help remind your child/ren if there is anything they need to remember to bring (e.g. for swimming, library books etc). We have learning activities from 9.30 until 3.00 and it is really important for the children to be here by 9.30 and stay for the whole day until 3pm. If they do leave early, they miss out on finishing the day with their peers and valuable activities such as pack away time.
Lastly but certainly not least, a few maintenance issues:
- Library is in desperate need of some volunteers to process and cover new books
- The green couch in our classroom needs to be fixed
- Books need to be sorted in our classroom
If anyone could help with these things it would be greatly appreciated and of course would go towards your maintenance hours.
