Wendy’s Class Week 7 Term 3

We had a very peaceful day at school yesterday with Fran’s, Preschool and, for part of the day, Olivia’s also, away from school! It was amazing how quiet it was. The two, somewhat bemused chickens spent much of the time sitting on the couch outside Preschool, possibly wondering where their lunch was going to come from!
In our group this week we are working on our play script, starting rehearsals, presenting personal projects and keeping up with spelling and maths activities. We are also welcoming our two student teachers, Luke and James back for their second prac with us. Our tadpoles are growing well and are a focus of much attentive discussion. We have the fish tank ready to set up now, too, and we are still waiting for the mushrooms to sprout! Fungi are less predictable than tadpoles, it seems.
This morning there is another MEETING ABOUT THE PROPOSED TRIP TO LAURA NEXT YEAR. The dates have been set for the festival itself as Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June and our trip will be organised around this. More details after the meeting today!
Thank you very much to everyone who has come to pay their money for one of the fund-raising efforts we have on the go at the moment. Please help if you can by paying up so the money can be sent off. Extra donations will always be gratefully accepted, too!! All for good causes such as MS or World Vision.
And lastly, we are in need of at least one more driver for ICE-SKATING this Friday. We will need to leave school by about 10:45 and could buy lunch at Macquarie Centre if that is not too much expense. Ice-skating costs $15 each and lunch money on top of that might be too much. Please make sure kids bring lunch if they are not going to buy it there.
Thanks. Wendy
