Hello Everyone,
We have the details for the excursion to the Darling Harbour Aquarium on Tuesday 2nd September 2008. The cost is $20.00 per child, which includes the entrance to the aquarium and the bus hire. Please pay this money to the preschool teachers as soon as possible. We will leave at 9.45 am and return at approximately 1.30 pm. Children will need drinks, morning tea and lunch in marked paper bags. Please ensure they arrive at school by 9.30 am. We need four adult helpers on the day, so if you can help for the day, please see Sue.
We are also preparing for the stall to raise money for books for Heartland Children’s Academy on Wednesday 17th September 2008. Please look for toys and books you no longer need and keep them for the stall. We will also be selling food to the rest of the school so please provide something if you would like to as well. No chocolate, nuts or kiwifruit, please, but chocolate cakes made with cocoa are fine.
Tomorrow we are going to visit Crows Nest Fire Station. We leave school by private car (parent drivers) at 10.00 am and go for a tour of the fire station. We will return to school by 11.30 am. We have been talking about firefighters, fires and emergencies this week. We have also fought some imaginary fires in preschool and thought of what we can do in the case of an emergency in our homes.
Please remember to check the ingredients in the muesli bars that are sent to school. Quite a few contain almonds, which are not permitted at school. You just need to read the ingredient list on each variety of bar. Please remember no nuts or kiwifruit are allowed at school. Bars that say “may contain traces of nuts…” or “processed on equipment that also processes nuts…” are fine. Thanks!
We are having a real fire at preschool on Friday morning. Steve, Matthew and Lucy are bringing in their fire pit so we can see, talk about and watch a fire.
Love from
Sue, Chris and Soojin.
