Hi everyone.
It really feels like the end of term… quite a few children have been unwell and we are all slowing down ready for the holiday. So much so, in fact, that we probably won’t get ourselves organised for that anticipated excursion…. we’ll just do a few more things next term instead, I think.
Yesterday we had a brief orientation visit from two Macquarie Uni student teachers who will be working with us early next term and then again later in the year. It is wonderful to be able to welcome them to Currambena… they both loved their first couple of hours with us. It was also wonderful to have Georgia with us for the day yesterday doing slave duty!
Congratulations to Kirstin for her great article in the Australian last weekend. Wonderful publicity for the school!
Our Project Presentations last week were brilliant and we managed to finish them all by Friday. Congratulations to all of the children for their efforts. Not all of them wished to have my comments written down though they all received feedback at the time of the presentation. This week we are writing and telling stories, revising all the maths concepts we have worked on this term and revisiting the design tasks for bridges, boats and tunnels. We are also playing some games like Bingo and others which can be played as a group. Portfolios are being updated but will remain at school … Our formal Parent Interviews will be later next term.
Remember to let us know if you are interested in the Conflict Resolution Course in May. Do recommend it to others because we need good numbers for this. Details are elsewhere in this newsletter.
I hope you all have a most relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Many thanks to the parents who have helped us this term, coming to camp or working with us in the group. I greatly appreciate your time and efforts.
Children return to school on Tuesday 29th April… so I’ll see you then! Wendy
