We have been finding out a little more about each other in the past couple of weeks. The children are bringing in their first toys this week for news and some have also been talking about their first memories, which has been very interesting for us all. Last week we all brought in something that symbolises ourselves and explained why. I was really impressed at the amount of thought that the children put into this activity and they are all busy thinking up new themes to use for our news each week. Thank you to Pedro for taking my class on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday.
This Thursday we are going on a whole school excursion to the NSW Art Gallery to see the Art Express exhibition and have lunch in the Botanical Gardens. Please make sure that the children come to school with enough food and drink for the day in a bag that is easily carried (a backpack of some kind is always a good idea) by each child. Also hat and comfortable shoes.
The children have also voted to go ice skating on Friday 28th March. We will be catching the bus there and back. The session starts at 11:30 am and finishes at 1pm. I imagine catching public transport will take up the most of the rest of the day so please make sure the children have food, drink, hats etc for that day also. Most important is long sleeved pants, shirts and socks are a must that day. More specific information next week on this. If anyone wants to come to either of these excursions please let me know.
